Is There A List Of Persona Paper Tags?

Thursday, October 27, 2016
I know that we have a members and a categories list here on Persona Paper, both of which are very useful. We can use the members list to see a list of all the members here while we can check out the categories to see more articles that we might find interesting and that we might want to read.

Tags list

But what about the tags? Is there a list of Persona Paper tags? We can also make use of them to look for more articles to read here.

If you look at the category pages here on Persona Paper, you can see the latest posts from that category as well as the "trending posts," but you can only see one page. You can't go to the next page to see the older posts.

Homepage

You can also check the homepage for new stuff to read, but if you want to see more, how else do you go about searching for interesting posts? For me, one of the things that I do is follow one of the tags on an article that I'm reading (for example, the tag about Tsu and there was also that tag about CGP Gallery).

Tags link

The link looks like this: http://personapaper.com/tags/tsu, so you can just change the last word (in this example, that would be 'tsu') to another word to get taken to another tag. For example, you can change that to 'pinterest' to get taken to the Pinterest tags page where you'll see posts about Pinterest.

Make your own tag

But people use different tags here and some have their own way or method of tagging things, so it can be hard to search for them. For example, take a look at this:

http://personapaper.com/tags/persona-paper
http://personapaper.com/tags/personapaper

As you can see, both tags are about Persona Paper, but they've been tagged differently. If you didn't know about the other tag, then you won't be able to see all the posts about Persona Paper.

Here are some comments from back when this was on the Persona Paper website:
melody23 wrote on January 9, 2015, 2:03 PM: "I don't know if that would even be possible, well I guess it would be technically possible but I mean just from the amount of tags there must be it would be very difficult. I am doing my best to remember to tag my articles, the one I just wrote had four different tags three of them I doubt many people would really be interested in but that's not the point.

"I do think that there should be an easier way to find articles, I know that if you type a tag into the search box you don't get all the articles with that tag because I tried it to look for some stuff last week. Maybe elitecodex could alter the search box thingy and make it so that you can enter a tag and you get all the articles with that tag as a result. I have no idea what the best thing to do is, but I agree that articles could be easier to find. I have tagged elitecodex so he will hopefully pop by and tell us what, if anything is possible on that front."

Freya Yuki replied to melody23 on January 10, 2015, 4:10 PM: "Yeah, I was mostly asking about the tags as another way to find articles here since the older posts aren't listed on the homepage anymore, the categories pages don't have a next page and it's hard to search via the profile page. So finding articles to read here can be kind of hard."

seren3 wrote on January 9, 2015, 2:59 PM: "I don't think we need a tag list. As you said, we can follow tags with the link you gave as an example above."

Freya Yuki replied to seren3 on January 10, 2015, 4:00 PM: "Yes, but if you don't know what the tags are, you won't know which one to add to the link like with the Persona Paper tag. I tag that as Persona-Paper and it was only recently that I discovered there were also articles under the tag PersonaPaper."

bestwriter wrote on February 5, 2015, 1:27 AM: "The site needs to do something about this as even I want to know the different tags tagged by users here."

Freya Yuki replied to bestwriter on February 7, 2015, 9:08 AM: "Yes. I do hope they make it easier to search for articles posted on Persona Paper because the homepage doesn't have new posts all the time and it's hard to search through a person's profile page."

Should You Discourage People From Posting Drafts On Your Site?

Friday, October 21, 2016
Drafts can be very useful for many different reasons. For example, you can use them to store articles that you plan to post on a site, but that you haven't finished editing and fixing yet. Or, if you don't have time to finish an article, you can just save it as a draft first, so you can work on it later on until you're ready to publish it.

writing site, daily two cents, writedge, persona paper, article drafts
Anyway, I just heard this news on Writedge and Daily Two Cents (writing sites that used to pay per view, but have since changed their payment model, unfortunately) where I post some of my other articles.

They said that they'll be deleting article drafts after a certain period of time. I can't say that I'm amused or pleased with this news. 'Cause I'm not. Why?

For many reasons, actually.  One, it's such a hassle. I posted those drafts there so I can work on them when I have time and so I can publish them on that site as soon as I finish with all the editing and proofreading.

Admittedly, they do say that only drafts that are 6 months old will be deleted, but that doesn't really make me feel any better. I mean, what if I forget or what if I lose track of time? Or what if some unforeseen event happens and I end up being unable to get my drafts from that site and then 6 months passed by? Does that mean that I'll end up losing all my drafts?

Needless to say, I don't want to risk it. So I'll just be moving my drafts from both Daily Two Cents and Writedge elsewhere. A few will probably end up here on Persona Paper. On that note, I'm real pleased that we can keep many drafts here and that I'm not in any danger of losing them anytime soon (at least, I don't think so :-) LOL).

Actually, more than a few of those drafts are from articles that I moved from Bubblews (also known as you-know-who, you know why. LOL) to those sites. Now that I've decided to move those drafts elsewhere, I guess I'll be posting them elsewhere too. I'll just be sure not to keep drafts on those sites anymore. Wouldn't want to risk losing my articles in case they end up being drafts for too long.

What about you? What do you think of such a news? If you were to experience something like that, what would you do? Would you move your articles too? Or set some sort of reminder to move them before 6 months passes by or something?

Reason Why You Can't Preview Polls On Persona Paper

Saturday, October 15, 2016
I've been seeing some polls here on Persona Paper lately and they look okay. I've only made one poll post so far and it didn't really turn out all that well.

The problems included being unable to add spaces to the additional commentary (even though I was able to do this on the text post editor, when the poll got published, the paragraphs disappeared) and being unable to use symbols like ' and (), so words like "I'm" or "can't" ended up looking like this - "Im" and "cant".

polls, persona paper, writing website, writing sites
So, I got kind of turned-off from making more polls here because of the issues. The admin did say they were aware of these problems and that they were working on fixing them, which is great, of course.

Anyway, from seeing some of the latest polls here, it does seem like they've been fixed already, so I thought about trying to make a poll here again. I clicked on the "new poll" link and I was taken to the poll page where I could write down all the necessary info.

Before I could do so though, I noticed that there was no "save draft" option and I have to wonder why. Before I didn't really bother using the "save draft" option on the text articles, but, now I find that I'm using them a lot even if I pre-write some of my articles from elsewhere.

When I paste them on the text post editor here on Persona Paper, I always save them as a draft first. In this way, I can see a preview of how my article will look like when I publish it. I can then fix it in case there are issues (for example, adding spaces, headings, fixing the font, etc).

Now, I wonder why the same can't be done for the polls here (at least, it doesn't look like we can preview them before submitting)? I see why we can't edit them, but being able to preview before submitting should help in case there are some issues, so when you publish your poll, it won't end up looking like a mess. What do you think?

Here are some comments from back when this was on the Persona Paper website:
Kasman wrote on January 9, 2015, 12:11 PM: "One way around the problem is to write your material elsewhere and paste it into PP. That also gives you a copy for your records."

Freya Yuki replied to Kasman on January 10, 2015, 4:43 PM: "Yes, I keep backup copies of my posts too and usually write them elsewhere first. If it's a text post, you can preview it before posting it so you can see how it looks and can fix any issues (like with the headings, fonts, etc). With the polls, you can't preview it, you can only submit it. If there are issues or problems (like with the symbols and spacing), you won't be able to edit the post so you can't fix it."

Why Does The Frown Look So Cute On Persona Paper?

Sunday, October 9, 2016
Actually, 'cute' might not begin to cover it, but it's a start. In Japanese or for anime fans, one might say, "kawaii (which, predictably enough, means 'cute')!" Okay, so what exactly am I talking about? And why would a frown ever be considered 'cute'?

persona paper, frown, sad emoticon, writing sites, kawaii
I'm talking about the sad or frowning emoticon :-(. Just look at it and tell me that doesn't look cute. It's cute, isn't it? It's so cute. Here, look at it again :-(.

Why is it so cute? I actually find it cuter than the smiley emoticon :-). It makes me want to keep using the frowning face emoticon even though it certainly wouldn't be appropriate (unless we're talking about posts about a certain site-that-shall-not-be-named (you know what I mean, don't you? No? Okay, I mean Bubblews).

Huh, maybe I should go check out more sad posts here on Persona Paper so I can use the sad emoticon a lot more often. Haha. Or maybe the smiley just needs to be cuter. Anyway, am I the only one who think this emoticon :-( is so super cute? Kawaii!!

Who Likes The Persona Paper Statue Of Liberty Ad And Auto-Play Movie Advertisements?

Monday, October 3, 2016
Okay, who else is seeing this Statue of Liberty advertisement here on Persona Paper? You know, that ad where you see the Statue of Liberty moving and then- something. Eh, I honestly don't know because I always scroll down or refresh the page to avoid seeing this ad.

I mean, it has nothing to do with the Statue of Liberty per se. Look at the pic of it. Nice, right? So, it's not that at all. I just don't like moving ads. Okay, that's a lie. I don't just dislike moving ads. I hate them. On that note, I hate those movie ads that automatically play as well :-(.

writing sites, persona paper, statue of liberty, ads, auto-play movie advertisements
They're so annoying, no? One reason is lack of choice. Shouldn't we get to decide if we want to play the video or movie or not?

If I want to watch the Statue of Liberty or some other video or ad or whatever, then I'll click on the play button myself.

But I don't want the ad thinking it knows what's best and automatically playing itself. It's so annoying and frustrating.

Small consolation - at least, there's no sounds even if the movie auto-plays. I still don't like it though just like I hate those annoying popup ads . What about you? What do you think about this? What kinds of ads do you hate or dislike?

(LOL?) Quote about the Statue of Liberty: "You Frenchies love to hate America. Why not go back to making us hot green chick statues like you used to?" Said by the United States of America to France from the Hetalia Axis Powers anime and manga series by Hidekaz Himaruya.

On a side note: just tried using the Pixabay feature of the image wizard for this post and it's working just fine. Look, I found this pic of the Statue of Liberty using this feature. Nice, right? :-)
