Questions About Persona Paper Notifications

Monday, December 26, 2016
Hi there. What's up? I haven't been able to log on to Persona Paper in a while. But I'm here now (wouldn't want to get an email about my account getting deleted; just saw an article about that on the front page).
persona paper, writing site, notifications list
Anyway, I was looking at my Persona Paper notifications list and I've some questions. If I click on the "show all" link, nothing happens, so it seems like I can only see the very latest notifications.

Is that really the case? Why? So, the notifications will disappear from the list if you don't look or check them for a long time? Is that how it works?

Right now, I don't even have a full page of notices. It looks like these are just the very latest ones. The old ones, the ones from before, it looks like they're gone now. So does that mean that I can no longer access them?

It's been a while since I've been here, so now I don't know if maybe I got responses to some of the comments that I made on my and other people's articles or if some of my older articles might have gotten some comments or if the people I'm following might have submitted new articles here on Persona Paper.

Thanks for any clarification on this matter :).

Here are some of the comments from this article, back when it used to be posted elsewhere:

MaeLou wrote on September 25, 2014, 11:59 AM:
"I think elitecodex has it set up where it's the last 2 weeks or last 3k notifications. So, if you haven't been on for 30 days, then yes, you will miss those notifications.

""Show All" is showing all of the notifications, and not broken into categories. So, you'll see the new submitted, tagged, polls, etc in "show all" or you can break it down and view only "submitted" etc."

FreyaYuki replied to MaeLou on October 2, 2014, 9:53 AM:
"Ah, I see. It's too bad that we have to miss the rest of the notifications. Thanks for informing us about this."

"The moral of the story is that you should get back here more often (lol)"

FreyaYuki replied to bestwriter on February 7, 2015, 8:37 AM:
"LOL. I'm trying to be here more often now though, sometimes, it's not always possible to be able to log on to Persona Paper every single day."

Losing Money In Persona Paper

Tuesday, December 20, 2016
It's been a while, I know. I've been busy with a whole lot of stuff so I only just got around to logging on to Persona Paper now.
persona paper, writing site, notifications, make money online, coins
I was definitely pleasantly surprised to see that I apparently have 991 coins now. Wow! And, apparently, that's equivalent to $0.99.

My cash out progress is 19%. I wonder if I'll get $1 with this post? How many coins would you need for that?

Anyway, I took a look at my notifications page, but there wasn't much on it at all. All I could see were recent submissions.

So I don't know if anyone commented on any of my articles or if anyone replied to any of the comments I made on other people's articles. Guess I will just have to take a look at those articles and see what I can find.

Oh, I also noticed that there's a preview button in the text post editor. I just checked it out. It looks pretty cool.

And I saw that there's something new on the Persona Paper homepage. There's a list of "top referring users." Interesting.

Are there more Persona Paper changes that I might have missed? I'll try to be more active here. It is rather nice to see 991 coins and almost but not quite $1 in my bank :-).

Update: Unfortunately, Persona Paper has stopped paying, so I never got paid. All the coins I'd ever managed to accumulate, gone, practically in the blink of an eye. Well, it was still there, but it didn't mean anything anymore. I was never going to get the monetary equivalent of those coins :-(.

How Many Drafts Can You Store On Persona Paper?

Wednesday, December 14, 2016
I always knew we could have drafts on Persona Paper, but I never really used this feature until now.

Now, I've just started to use this cool feature and I appreciate that we can store drafts of our posts on the site before posting them when they're ready to be posted (you know, like after editing them and stuff).
persona paper, writing site, drafts
Anyway, currently, I have about 11 drafts on Persona Paper (not counting this one since I'll be posting it right after I write it; need to ask a question :-)). And I foresee that I will have many more. I think I'm gonna need to add more article drafts here.

This brings me to the post title question - is there a limit to the number of drafts that we can store on Persona Paper?

Or can we have as many drafts as we want to? Anyone tried storing like a whole lot of drafts here?

Here are some of the comments from this article, back when it used to be posted elsewhere:

LadyDuck wrote on January 4, 2015, 2:32 AM:
"I suggest you to ask directly to elitecodex or MaeLou they surely know. The is the "Contact" link at the top of every page. They reply to the questions, very different from the site we know."

Freya Yuki replied to LadyDuck on January 5, 2015, 2:52 PM:
"Thanks. They already answered in the comment below. It is great how they respond to the questions people ask and how the communication here is really good unlike in that other site where you have to wait forever for a response to your query (that is, if they'd even bother to reply)."

RegieEstioco wrote on January 4, 2015, 4:55 AM:
"I don't have an idea if how many draft we can store. The draft, however, is useful when we cannot finish writing our article in one sitting.

"We can save it in the draft and then continue later. Personally, I don't use the draft feature because I am encoding first my article in MS Word."

Freya Yuki replied to RegieEstioco on January 5, 2015, 3:04 PM:
"Yes, I'm finding the drafts feature useful too. I usually write my posts elsewhere so I always have a backup copy.

"I'm moving some articles here though so I'm using the drafts feature to store them first until I'm ready to post them. I already have backup copies of these posts."

MaeLou wrote on January 4, 2015, 10:44 AM:
"Great question! You are able to put an unlimited amount of posts in your drafts. We will add this to the FAQ."

Freya Yuki replied to MaeLou on January 6, 2015, 12:19 PM:
"Thanks for the answer. It's good to know that we can have as many drafts as we want here."

What I Wish I Knew Before Joining Niume?

Thursday, December 8, 2016
There's one thing that I regret not doing before I joined Niume. I wish I'd known about this before joining the site. Before I explain in detail, first, let's talk about:
niume, collaborative blogging platform, writing site

What is Niume?

Niume is a writing site. It's also referred to as a collaborative blogging platform. You can create an account on Niume (it's free to sign up) and then write about pretty much anything you want (with a few limitations).

You can also use the site to read other people's articles. You can comment, hype (that's what they call liking posts there) and even bookmark these articles. You can also get the chance to be part of a community.

You can interact and talk to people from all over the world. Niume even has a chat or messaging feature, which you can use to have private conversations with fellow Niume users/members.

Aside from all that, the site also gives you an opportunity to earn a little money. All-in-all, it's a pretty fun and nice site.

What's the problem then?

Well, quite a few things, actually, but let's not get into that now. The focus of this post is about something I regret not knowing about and thus not being able to do before joining Niume.

Niume affiliate program

The short answer is that Niume has an affiliate program. Basically, if you get someone to sign up to the site using your affiliate link, then you'll earn a bit of money.

What makes Niume's affiliate program different?

The answer to that is this (from the profile info page on my Niume account):

"With Niume's referral programme you will receive $1 for every user you bring to the platform who creates at least one post. Any user you bring will also receive $1 straight after creating their first post."

Niume's affiliate program benefits both parties- the current Niume member and the person who joins the site thanks to said current member. In short, it's a win-win.

I really wish I'd known about this before creating an account on Niume. It would have been really nice to get $1 right after posting my first article on the site.

$1 may not be much at all (it really isn't), but, when you compare it to the cents you'll get from posting your first article, it's definitely a welcome addition to your Niume earnings especially since it brings you closer to reaching the minimum payout (well, obviously not that close since the minimum payout is $10).

I'd say most people could definitely use that $1. Why? Because it's really not that easy to increase your earnings on Niume unless you happen to get lucky and your posts get super popular.

The thing is- there are already a lot of people on Niume. That means thousands of articles have already been posted there.

Plus, it's not that easy to search for posts on there (more on that in another article). That all boils down to the fact that it's kind of easy to get lost there especially if you're new.

There's also the fact that you'd need a lot of posts to see a significant increase in earnings on Niume (again, if you manage to get lucky, then the number of posts you have doesn't matter as much, but, well, unfortunately, we can't all be lucky, can we?).

Being new, that's not exactly easy. It doesn't help that something weird is going on in that site and it's kind of hard to publish stuff there.

How earning on Niume works?

Another thing to consider is how you earn money on Niume. According to the site (emphasis mine):

"On Niume you generate revenue based on the amount of views on your posts... Niume currently pays a $1 RPM for the views on your posts... RPM is an acronym which stands for Revenues Per Mille, and corresponds to the amount paid for every thousand views on a page. In other words, every time your post makes 1,000 views you will make $1."

You need at least $10 before you can cash out on Niume. To get $1, you need 1,000 views. So, you'll need a total of 10,000 views if you ever want to reach payout on this site.

If you're lucky, you're probably well on your way to getting 10k views on your posts. If not, well, who knows when you'll even get to $1, right? I mean, I'm new to the site and only have a few posts up and I've yet to get $1 (at the time of writing this).

Honestly, it can be quite discouraging, even more so when I saw that I could have gotten $1 if only I'd joined using an affiliate link. Sigh.

So, my advice is if you're interested in joining Niume, be sure to do so using an affiliate link. For example, here's mine. Of course, it doesn't have to be mine. Just go with whichever link you want to use.

How To Unsubscribe From Niume Email Notifications?

Friday, December 2, 2016
Niume is a writing site (they call it a collaborative blogging platform or something like that) where you can earn a bit of money by posting pretty much anything (there are a few rules to keep in mind, of course) you want on said site.

It's a pretty fun site and you can spend quite a bit of time exploring it especially when you've just joined. You can check out interesting articles and even leave comments and/or hype (that's what they call liking posts on there) if you want to.

That's basically what I did, not realizing that, after commenting on a Niume post, the site automatically subscribed me to said post, ensuring I receive every (and I do mean every) notification every time anyone commented on said post.

Niume also subscribed me to every email notification they send their users without telling me about it. Like I said, I took my time exploring the site, but there wasn't anything there regarding email notifications.

So, imagine my surprise when I logged on to my email account and was greeted with this:
niume, writing site, collaborative blogging platform, email notifications list, subscribe
That's not even the half of it. Because Niume didn't just send me an email every time someone commented on a post I'd commented on, it also sent me messages about things like the Niumer of the week, video tutorials, newsletters, and more.

In no time at all (especially since I ended up logging on to Niume daily and reading and commenting on posts there), my email's inbox got filled with hundreds of notifications that were all from Niume.

None of the messages were welcome in the least and I ended up deleting them all without opening them. Well, except the ones that said something about my posts gathering hype and/or views.

Apart from those, the rest of the emails weren't appreciated because the Niume site itself already provides notifications.

Whenever I log on to my Niume account, I can see right away if I've got any notifications. I can check them out from there. There was no need to send me emails about something I already knew about.

The amount of emails I'd get from Niume quickly got frustrating. It was cluttering up my inbox and wasting my time since I had to select all those emails and send them straight to the trash bin.

I checked the Niume site again, hoping to find a way to unsubscribe from these emails. But I found nothing at all.

Taking a closer look at one of the emails the site sent me, I found the following words at the bottom: "This email was sent to (your email address). Click here to unsubscribe from this mailing."

You can click the word "here," and, presumably, you'll then be able to unsubscribe from the email notifications.

Initially, I'd been reluctant to click that link. Why? It's because I thought it would unsubscribe me from all the Niume emails.

Yes, most of them are basically useless, but I'd like to receive emails regarding my posts as well as important news about the site (updates to their terms and policies and other things like that).

I mean, on sites like Tumblr and Twitter, I can tweak my account settings and choose what kind of emails they should send me. I didn't have to click anything on the messages they sent.

I can change my email notification settings right from my account page while I'm logged on to said site/s.

So, I refrained from clicking the unsubscribe link until, finally, I just couldn't take it anymore. My inbox was really getting clogged as I got bombarded with what seemed to be like a million email notices all in a row.

So, I finally clicked on the unsubscribe link. Doing so brought me to this page:
niume, writing site, collaborative blogging platform, unsubscribe, email notifications, subscribe
I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that I could choose what kind of emails to receive from Niume.

But, as I had suspected, Niume had automatically subscribed me to all their emails. All the options on the email notifications list page had been checked.
niume, email notifications list, unsubscribe, subscribe, collaborative blogging platform, writing site
So, I spent some time reading through the list and unchecking most of the options before saving my preferences.
niume, email notifications list, unsubscribe, subscribe, collaborative blogging platform, writing site
Now, I've finally stopped being bombarded with numerous emails from Niume. My inbox can finally breathe again.

Some things to note about Niume's email notifications list page:

The white text over a brown background wasn't the least bit appealing to me. On the contrary, I found it a little bit too dark and kind of hard to read. Basically, I prefer the usual black text over a white background; it's just easier to read.

I'm a little sad that the post comments on your article and those on other people's articles have been lumped together.

So if I want to receive an email every time someone comments on my own post, I'll also have to agree to receive an email every time someone comments on any of the articles I've commented on.

Yeah, so not happening since it was mostly those kinds of emails that ended up clogging up my inbox. Needless to say, I've unchecked that option.

Well, at least it's not that much of a loss. After all, every time you log on to Niume, you can just check your notifications and your profile page to see if there are any new comments on your own posts.

Another thing I want to point out is how I found it strange that Niume didn't include this email notifications list page right on their site.

As mentioned, most sites let you tweak your email settings right on your account page. It's different with Niume though and I can't say it's in a good way.

It's just kind of weird, isn't it? Anyway, I'm just glad I finally got unsubscribed to all these emails. So, what about you? What do you think about all this?

What To Dislike About The Daily Two Cents Login Page?

Saturday, November 26, 2016
Also known as, "Changes in the Daily Two Cents login page" and "What's the fastest way to get to the Daily Two Cents WordPress dashboard?"

If you write on Daily Two Cents (writing site that used to pay per view, but has since changed its payment model, unfortunately where you can publish articles and earn some passive or residual income), then you must have noticed that there were some changes to said site. What are these changes and is there an issue or problem with them?
daily two cents, writing site, login page

Daily Two Cents dashboard

Before, this is what happens every time I log on to Daily Two Cents – I would get taken straight to the dashboard where I can see and find all the links that I need.

For example, if I want to write a new article or if I want to see my profile page, etc, then all I need to do is click on the appropriate links to get to where I want.

Daily Two Cents old login page

But things have changed and you can easily see that even before you log on to Daily Two Cents (DTC).

First of all, the log in link that I had (http://dailytwocents. com/wp-login.php) redirected to another page: http://dailytwocents. com/profile-2/login/.

The log in page used to look exactly like its Writedge (also a writing site like DTC) counterpart – very clean and plain.

All you can see are the textboxes where you need to input your username and password as well as the sign in button and the site logo.

There isn’t anything else on this page, not even ads, so you won’t end up being distracted or accidentally clicking something else. Once you enter all the required information, you’ll get taken straight to the DTC dashboard.

Daily Two Cents new login page

The new DTC login page doesn’t look plain or clean at all. Aside from the textboxes where you need to type your username and password, there are many other things that you can find on this page including ads and the DTC menu and header.

Once you log in, you get taken to your profile page (which is also new, but let’s not get into that now).

Where’s the Daily Two Cents dashboard?

When this happened for the first time, I felt a little panicked because I didn’t know how to get to the DTC dashboard.

My internet was acting up, so I didn’t see the big button (with the words "click here to write new post") or the black header bar (where, if you hover your mouse on "Daily Two Cents," you can see a drop-down menu with the link to your dashboard) right away.

Everything looked rather messy and quite confusing, so I was very glad when I finally saw the aforementioned links. Needless to say, I went straight to my dashboard and was very happy to see it.

Fastest way to get to the DTC dashboard?

Now, I wonder if there’s a way to make it so that when I log in to the site, I’ll get taken straight to my dashboard just like how it is in Writedge (hope things don’t change there as well)? I also wonder why things had to change for DTC?

Guess I got too used to how it used to look and how we got taken to the dashboard first (you can access the profile page from there by clicking on the appropriate link) so this change seems odd.

It looks like it might take me a while to get used to this change. What about you? What do you think? Do you prefer to see your DTC dashboard first or your profile page?

Why you cannot see all the comments in Writedge and Daily Two Cents?

Sunday, November 20, 2016
Did you notice the changes to the comments section of Writedge and Daily Two Cents (writing sites where you can earn some residual or passive income that used to pay per view, but have since changed their payment model, unfortunately)?

comments list, writing sites, dashboard, wordpress, writedge, daily two cents
What are these changes? What do you think of them? Do you like them? Is something wrong with them? Is there an issue with them?

When you log in to your account on either of the 2 sites, you can see the "comments" link on your dashboard.

When you click it, what used to happen was that you will get taken to the comments page where all the comments made in Writedge or Daily Two Cents (depending on where you’re logged in) are displayed.

So, it doesn’t matter whoever commented or if it’s your article or not because you can see all the comments there and read them all. If your articles have comments, you can see them there too. You can even respond to the comments on your posts there.

How the comments feature looks like now?

But, now, things have changed. Now, Daily Two Cents and Writedge have removed the ability for you to see the comments in other people’s articles. Now, when you click the comments section in your dashboard, you can only see the comments on your own articles. You can no longer see the other comments in other articles by other authors.

Reason for the change? Is this a WordPress thing?

Do you wonder why they did that and why they made this change? Or is this yet another WordPress issue / problem? Because it wasn’t like you can do anything to those comments if they’re not posted on your article anyway. You can only make changes to your own comments or those in your articles.

For example, you can edit your comment if you made a mistake or unapprove the comment on your article. If it’s not your article or comment, then you can’t do anything.

The only thing you can do is read it. So, I wonder why they had to change things. What do you think about this?

Reasons to like seeing all the comments on Writedge and Daily Two Cents

For me, I actually like seeing the entire comments list. Why? This is because I get the chance to read lots of interesting comments plus the comments page also includes the article title and link where the comment is located, so if the comment I read seemed interesting enough and if the title caught my eye, I can easily click the link to check out the post.

Thanks to this, I was able to find lots of new (and even helpful and useful) stuff to read. I like that because I’m usually working on the text post editor on the WordPress dashboard, so I don’t really get the chance to check out the Writedge or Daily Two Cents sites unless I’m previewing the post I’m working on. So, what about you? What are your thoughts on these changes?

2 Reasons To Dislike Persona Paper

Monday, November 14, 2016
Persona Paper is a revenue-sharing (unfortunately, this site no longer pays) writing website where you can earn a little bit of residual or passive income by posting articles on said site and interacting with the other site members. It’s a pretty good site, but what’s 2 things to dislike/hate about it? Let's discuss the issue in story format:

“Hey, man, when was the last time you logged on to Persona Paper?” Aleks asked.

Ivan pondered the question for a moment. “Ah, I can not remember. It is feeling like forever ago. Does it matter?”

persona paper, writing site, force login, account deletion, login requirements, reviews
“Aww, man, you too? I can’t remember either. We gotta go find a PC now and like login there and stuff. Come on.”

“What is reason for rushing? You are wishing to publish article on that site?”

“Eh? I dunno yet. But that’s totally not the point.”

“Then what is point? Why must we log in to Persona Paper right away? Can it not wait?”

“No, it totally can’t. It’s cause of Persona Paper’s weird rules.”

“Chto? What you mean? What rules?”

“Dude, have you forgotten? Persona Paper has this weird rule where you are like required to login to the site if ya don’t want yer account to be deleted.”

“Ah, I am thinking I am remembering something like that. Was there not some sort of time limit, a certain number of days that may pass before you must login or lose your account?”

“Yeah, something like that, but, the thing is, I can’t remember that part of the rule. I just know we gotta log in there regularly or we lose our accounts. Uff, what a total hassle. So inconvenient.”

“We are not being required to post article, are we?”

“Uh,” Aleks said, trailing off and scrunching his eyebrows in thought. “I’m pretty sure no. Thankfully. Unless they like changed the rules or something since we last checked our accounts there.”

“Hmm… I am thinking there is something else to this although I can not quite recall right now.”

“Huh? Oh, yeah, that’s right. There’s more weird rules on that site. If you don’t log in to your account and stuff, they’ll also start deducting money or coins that’s already in your account. So you end up losing what you already earned there if you don’t regularly log in to Persona Paper.”

Ivan frowned. “What a hassle indeed. Perhaps I should just let it go.”

“What? Are you kidding me? Why’d you wanna do that, man? You already have a number of coins there, right? Well, so do I. And I dun wanna lose all of that. Besides, we like earned it and stuff already, right? It’s sad to think about losing all that. And, like, I don’t want my account to be deleted and stuff, ya know? Like, what about all my articles on there? I dun wanna lose those either.

“I just wish they didn’t have such weird rules, you know? Like other sites don’t make/force/require you to log in or else they’ll get rid of your account. I mean, like, what do y’all think ‘bout that, huh? Imagine losing your account on a site just ‘cause you didn’t get to log in and even losing what you earned already just ‘cause you weren’t there and stuff.”

“What is being your opinion about this?”

“Eh, you guys can just share it below or whatever. Come on, man, we gotta go log in to Persona Paper now. Let’s find a PC and fast. Who knows how much time we have left? I don’t even remember when I last logged in there,” Aleks said, taking hold of Ivan’s hand and practically dragging him away in his haste to get to or find the nearest available computer.

How to Join the Writedge and Daily Two Cents Forums?

Tuesday, November 8, 2016
Did you know that Writedge and Daily Two Cents (writing sites that used to pay-per-view, but, unfortunately, they've both changed their payment model) have a forum where you can ask questions and get help in case you need it or if you’re experiencing problems? How can you join the forums?

Member support

One of the latest blog posts about Writedge and Daily Two Cents is that they’re changing their member support system. Before, there used to be an on-site support system so you can easily contact the admin right from your WordPress dashboard when you’re logged on to either website. Now, you can contact them by using the appropriate Facebook group, via the aforementioned blog or by using the forums.

Writedge and Daily Two Cents forums

writing sites, writedge, daily two cents, forums, phpbb
So, how can you get started with the forums? Unfortunately, you will have to create an account if you want to use the forums.

First, go to this URL – http:// writedge.com/forums. Click on the "Register" link near the top (beside the login link).

Terms of Service

You’ll be taken to the terms of service page. It’s fairly short, so it shouldn’t take you that much time to read it. After reading it, just click on the "I agree to these terms" button (if you don’t agree, then you can’t create an account).

Registration page

After clicking on the aforementioned button, you will be taken to the registration page. On this page, you will have to input your chosen username. For me, I just used the same one that I’m using here on Daily Two Cents and on Writedge. You will need to enter your e-mail address and your chosen password.

You can choose whatever timezone you want. After you input all the required details, just click on the "submit" button. If there are any errors (for example, if you forgot to add numbers to your password, etc), you’ll just be brought back to the registration page so you can correct them.

Activate account

After registering, you will have to activate your account on the forums. You’ll be sent an activation code to the email that you used to register and you just need to get the code from there so you can log on to the forums. If you try logging in with the username and password you just created, it won’t work since you have to activate your account first.

If you have any questions about this or need some help, feel free to ask :-).

1 Reason to Dislike Writedge, Daily Two Cents and Po.st

Wednesday, November 2, 2016
Do you like it when your clipboard gets hijacked? I don't. Definitely don't like it. IMHO, it's so inconvenient and frustrating. It's such a hassle and waste of my time. Okay, so, what am I talking about exactly? Here's an example:
writedge, daily two cents, pos.st, writing sites, reviews, clipboard hijacker, social media sharing buttons
You see that little box with the social media buttons? Yeah, that only shows up when you highlight any part of an article or post from a site that has this feature or whatever you call it known as Po.st.

Or, to be more precise, you have to highlight a part of the text and then copy it as in right-click then choose copy or do the usual ctrl + C. That box automatically popups every time you highlight and copy text from a site that has Po.st.

And, you know what? That's actually okay with me. I mean, I'm not actively liking or disliking this feature. I can live with it. It's not that bad, really, and, sometimes, I even think it looks kinda cute/nice.

It doesn't really get in your way and it disappears as soon as you click anywhere on the article, so I can just ignore it.

What's the issue then? The issue and the real problem is what happens when you paste the text that you just copied anywhere. This is the part that hijacks your clipboard and which I really don't like. Take a look at the pics below:
po.st, clipboard hijacker, plagiarism, writedge, daily two cents, writing sites
In the above pic, I pasted the copied text on the search box of a search engine, so I can check and see if it's been plagiarized. But look what happens.

Instead of only getting the text that I wanted and that I copied, thanks to Po.st hijacking my clipboard, this new text (the one that says "read more at...") also got pasted alongside the text that I pasted.

So, now, instead of just hitting the search button or the enter key right away, I have to delete the added extra text. What a hassle and waste of time.
po.st, clipboard hijacker, writedge, daily two cents, writing sites
The above pic shows what happens when I paste the copied text on a word or text document. You can see the entirety of the extra text that Po.st automatically added to my clipboard when I copied the text from the article.

This happens regardless of where you paste the copied text. The extra text gets automatically tacked on complete with the messed up link (what's with those weird letters and numbers and stuff? Even if it's my own article, I ain't clicking on that link. Thanks, but no thanks).

Why does this have to happen? Maybe others like it, but I really don't. I mean, I don't need to be prompted to "read more" or share the link or whatever.

If I want to share an article (regardless of who wrote it or where it's located), then I will and I can get the link myself. Plus, this just adds on extra work for people who don't actually like this added text.

They have to go through the process of deleting the extra text and the worst part is they didn't even copy it in the first place. It was just automatically added on to their clipboard thanks to Po.st.

IMHO, this is not user or reader-friendly at all. But that's just my opinion. What do you think? Do you like it when your clipboard gets hijacked? Also, if anyone knows how to stop this, yes, I would definitely like to know.

I tried to search online, but couldn't really find anything except some people also talking about how they don't like it when their clipboard gets hijacked (glad I'm not the only one).

And I also found out there were other services like this Po.st and there was something about your privacy and it following you everywhere or something? Don't really know and I'm not sure I even want to find out.

P.S. By the way, I'm really glad that Persona Paper doesn't have this and I hope that it will never have this feature because I do copy my articles (not just here, but on other sites and blogs that I write on) to a word document, so I can have backup copies and I also check them for plagiarism whenever I get the time to do so.

Is There A List Of Persona Paper Tags?

Thursday, October 27, 2016
I know that we have a members and a categories list here on Persona Paper, both of which are very useful. We can use the members list to see a list of all the members here while we can check out the categories to see more articles that we might find interesting and that we might want to read.

Tags list

persona paper, writing site, reviews, categories, tags list
But what about the tags? Is there a list of Persona Paper tags? We can also make use of them to look for more articles to read here.

If you look at the category pages here on Persona Paper, you can see the latest posts from that category as well as the "trending posts," but you can only see one page. You can't go to the next page to see the older posts.

Homepage

You can also check the homepage for new stuff to read, but if you want to see more, how else do you go about searching for interesting posts? For me, one of the things that I do is follow one of the tags on an article that I'm reading (for example, the tag about Tsu and there was also that tag about CGP Gallery).

Tags link

The link looks like this: http://personapaper.com/tags/tsu, so you can just change the last word (in this example, that would be 'tsu') to another word to get taken to another tag. For example, you can change that to 'pinterest' to get taken to the Pinterest tags page where you'll see posts about Pinterest.

Make your own tag

But people use different tags here and some have their own way or method of tagging things, so it can be hard to search for them. For example, take a look at this:

http://personapaper.com/tags/persona-paper
http://personapaper.com/tags/personapaper

As you can see, both tags are about Persona Paper, but they've been tagged differently. If you didn't know about the other tag, then you won't be able to see all the posts about Persona Paper.

Here are some comments from back when this was on the Persona Paper website:
melody23 wrote on January 9, 2015, 2:03 PM: "I don't know if that would even be possible, well I guess it would be technically possible but I mean just from the amount of tags there must be it would be very difficult. I am doing my best to remember to tag my articles, the one I just wrote had four different tags three of them I doubt many people would really be interested in but that's not the point.

"I do think that there should be an easier way to find articles, I know that if you type a tag into the search box you don't get all the articles with that tag because I tried it to look for some stuff last week. Maybe elitecodex could alter the search box thingy and make it so that you can enter a tag and you get all the articles with that tag as a result. I have no idea what the best thing to do is, but I agree that articles could be easier to find. I have tagged elitecodex so he will hopefully pop by and tell us what, if anything is possible on that front."

Freya Yuki replied to melody23 on January 10, 2015, 4:10 PM: "Yeah, I was mostly asking about the tags as another way to find articles here since the older posts aren't listed on the homepage anymore, the categories pages don't have a next page and it's hard to search via the profile page. So finding articles to read here can be kind of hard."

seren3 wrote on January 9, 2015, 2:59 PM: "I don't think we need a tag list. As you said, we can follow tags with the link you gave as an example above."

Freya Yuki replied to seren3 on January 10, 2015, 4:00 PM: "Yes, but if you don't know what the tags are, you won't know which one to add to the link like with the Persona Paper tag. I tag that as Persona-Paper and it was only recently that I discovered there were also articles under the tag PersonaPaper."

bestwriter wrote on February 5, 2015, 1:27 AM: "The site needs to do something about this as even I want to know the different tags tagged by users here."

Freya Yuki replied to bestwriter on February 7, 2015, 9:08 AM: "Yes. I do hope they make it easier to search for articles posted on Persona Paper because the homepage doesn't have new posts all the time and it's hard to search through a person's profile page."

Should You Discourage People From Posting Drafts On Your Site?

Friday, October 21, 2016
Drafts can be very useful for many different reasons. For example, you can use them to store articles that you plan to post on a site, but that you haven't finished editing and fixing yet. Or, if you don't have time to finish an article, you can just save it as a draft first, so you can work on it later on until you're ready to publish it.

writing site, daily two cents, writedge, persona paper, article drafts
Anyway, I just heard this news on Writedge and Daily Two Cents (writing sites that used to pay per view, but have since changed their payment model, unfortunately) where I post some of my other articles.

They said that they'll be deleting article drafts after a certain period of time. I can't say that I'm amused or pleased with this news. 'Cause I'm not. Why?

For many reasons, actually.  One, it's such a hassle. I posted those drafts there so I can work on them when I have time and so I can publish them on that site as soon as I finish with all the editing and proofreading.

Admittedly, they do say that only drafts that are 6 months old will be deleted, but that doesn't really make me feel any better. I mean, what if I forget or what if I lose track of time? Or what if some unforeseen event happens and I end up being unable to get my drafts from that site and then 6 months passed by? Does that mean that I'll end up losing all my drafts?

Needless to say, I don't want to risk it. So I'll just be moving my drafts from both Daily Two Cents and Writedge elsewhere. A few will probably end up here on Persona Paper. On that note, I'm real pleased that we can keep many drafts here and that I'm not in any danger of losing them anytime soon (at least, I don't think so :-) LOL).

Actually, more than a few of those drafts are from articles that I moved from Bubblews (also known as you-know-who, you know why. LOL) to those sites. Now that I've decided to move those drafts elsewhere, I guess I'll be posting them elsewhere too. I'll just be sure not to keep drafts on those sites anymore. Wouldn't want to risk losing my articles in case they end up being drafts for too long.

What about you? What do you think of such a news? If you were to experience something like that, what would you do? Would you move your articles too? Or set some sort of reminder to move them before 6 months passes by or something?

Reason Why You Can't Preview Polls On Persona Paper

Saturday, October 15, 2016
I've been seeing some polls here on Persona Paper lately and they look okay. I've only made one poll post so far and it didn't really turn out all that well.

The problems included being unable to add spaces to the additional commentary (even though I was able to do this on the text post editor, when the poll got published, the paragraphs disappeared) and being unable to use symbols like ' and (), so words like "I'm" or "can't" ended up looking like this - "Im" and "cant".

polls, persona paper, writing website, writing sites
So, I got kind of turned-off from making more polls here because of the issues. The admin did say they were aware of these problems and that they were working on fixing them, which is great, of course.

Anyway, from seeing some of the latest polls here, it does seem like they've been fixed already, so I thought about trying to make a poll here again. I clicked on the "new poll" link and I was taken to the poll page where I could write down all the necessary info.

Before I could do so though, I noticed that there was no "save draft" option and I have to wonder why. Before I didn't really bother using the "save draft" option on the text articles, but, now I find that I'm using them a lot even if I pre-write some of my articles from elsewhere.

When I paste them on the text post editor here on Persona Paper, I always save them as a draft first. In this way, I can see a preview of how my article will look like when I publish it. I can then fix it in case there are issues (for example, adding spaces, headings, fixing the font, etc).

Now, I wonder why the same can't be done for the polls here (at least, it doesn't look like we can preview them before submitting)? I see why we can't edit them, but being able to preview before submitting should help in case there are some issues, so when you publish your poll, it won't end up looking like a mess. What do you think?

Here are some comments from back when this was on the Persona Paper website:
Kasman wrote on January 9, 2015, 12:11 PM: "One way around the problem is to write your material elsewhere and paste it into PP. That also gives you a copy for your records."

Freya Yuki replied to Kasman on January 10, 2015, 4:43 PM: "Yes, I keep backup copies of my posts too and usually write them elsewhere first. If it's a text post, you can preview it before posting it so you can see how it looks and can fix any issues (like with the headings, fonts, etc). With the polls, you can't preview it, you can only submit it. If there are issues or problems (like with the symbols and spacing), you won't be able to edit the post so you can't fix it."

Why Does The Frown Look So Cute On Persona Paper?

Sunday, October 9, 2016
Actually, 'cute' might not begin to cover it, but it's a start. In Japanese or for anime fans, one might say, "kawaii (which, predictably enough, means 'cute')!" Okay, so what exactly am I talking about? And why would a frown ever be considered 'cute'?

persona paper, frown, sad emoticon, writing sites, kawaii
I'm talking about the sad or frowning emoticon :-(. Just look at it and tell me that doesn't look cute. It's cute, isn't it? It's so cute. Here, look at it again :-(.

Why is it so cute? I actually find it cuter than the smiley emoticon :-). It makes me want to keep using the frowning face emoticon even though it certainly wouldn't be appropriate (unless we're talking about posts about a certain site-that-shall-not-be-named (you know what I mean, don't you? No? Okay, I mean Bubblews).

Huh, maybe I should go check out more sad posts here on Persona Paper so I can use the sad emoticon a lot more often. Haha. Or maybe the smiley just needs to be cuter. Anyway, am I the only one who think this emoticon :-( is so super cute? Kawaii!!

Who Likes The Persona Paper Statue Of Liberty Ad And Auto-Play Movie Advertisements?

Monday, October 3, 2016
Okay, who else is seeing this Statue of Liberty advertisement here on Persona Paper? You know, that ad where you see the Statue of Liberty moving and then- something. Eh, I honestly don't know because I always scroll down or refresh the page to avoid seeing this ad.

I mean, it has nothing to do with the Statue of Liberty per se. Look at the pic of it. Nice, right? So, it's not that at all. I just don't like moving ads. Okay, that's a lie. I don't just dislike moving ads. I hate them. On that note, I hate those movie ads that automatically play as well :-(.

writing sites, persona paper, statue of liberty, ads, auto-play movie advertisements
They're so annoying, no? One reason is lack of choice. Shouldn't we get to decide if we want to play the video or movie or not?

If I want to watch the Statue of Liberty or some other video or ad or whatever, then I'll click on the play button myself.

But I don't want the ad thinking it knows what's best and automatically playing itself. It's so annoying and frustrating.

Small consolation - at least, there's no sounds even if the movie auto-plays. I still don't like it though just like I hate those annoying popup ads . What about you? What do you think about this? What kinds of ads do you hate or dislike?

(LOL?) Quote about the Statue of Liberty: "You Frenchies love to hate America. Why not go back to making us hot green chick statues like you used to?" Said by the United States of America to France from the Hetalia Axis Powers anime and manga series by Hidekaz Himaruya.

On a side note: just tried using the Pixabay feature of the image wizard for this post and it's working just fine. Look, I found this pic of the Statue of Liberty using this feature. Nice, right? :-)

4 Things To Like About The Registration Process And Form On Persona Paper

Tuesday, September 27, 2016
When I clicked on the register link on the Persona Paper website, I was pleasantly surprised to see the registration form. The right side of the page includes a textbox along with instructions on writing an article before you can be accepted to write for this site.

This can really help to weed out all the spammers and the plagiarists and even those who can't read and follow directions because the instructions tell you what you should write about (you have to say something about your occupation, hobby and favorite food or drink) and how many characters your post should be.

persona paper, writing website, registration process, signup form
This might seem like a daunting task to some, but you shouldn't let this deter you from signing up to the site, if you’re really interested, because the introductory article you need to write is really, really easy.

You only need a minimum of 500 characters and you don’t even need to research because the post you're writing is about you.

All you really need to do is introduce yourself and say a few things about your hobbies, interests, etc. What's so hard about that? But that deters those who just want to post spam or those who just plagiarize or copy-paste articles.

Another thing that I like about the Persona Paper registration form is what is on the left side of the page. This is where you input information like your username, password and email address.

I like the short description under each of these text boxes because it helps to clarify things, so those who are registering will know how many characters their username should have, if they’re allowed to use symbols, etc.

Aside from that, we’re even told exactly what these things are for and why the website needs the information. For example, we need to type in a captcha to 'discourage automated signups' and to prove that we’re human.

Lastly, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I especially liked the description for the 'confirm email' part. It says, 'so important we want to make sure you did not mistype it the first time.' This one just made me grin in amusement. What about you? What do you think about the signup form on Persona Paper?

Why And How Persona Paper Makes You Feel Welcome?

Wednesday, September 21, 2016
I just recently joined Persona Paper, so I’m very new here, but, already, there's this feeling of being welcomed.

Right after clicking the register button, I was led to a page that gave me a very warm welcome. In big lettering and font, I could clearly see the words 'welcome to our community FreyaYuki!' There was more text at the bottom along the lines of thanking me for joining Persona Paper and how I should confirm my email address to get started.

persona paper, writing website
Needless to say, I did feel welcome. Sure, maybe that page is something all the new users see when they join the site, but I still like it anyway.

It’s better than not seeing anything at all and just having to check your email without being reminded to do so.

When I logged on for the first time, I saw that someone was already following me, which was surprising, but nice and added to that welcoming feeling.

Later on, I saw that my introduction post (the one I wrote as part of my registration form ) had already been posted. It had received very few views and likes. But it did get a comment and that was very nice. I especially appreciated the one comment I got because it welcomed me to the site.

Oh, and when I checked my email, I saw that I had gotten one from Persona Paper. This is different from the confirmation email. This one was welcoming me to the site. Well, it said more than that, but, yeah, you get the point.

So far, I am really liking Persona Paper. It's easy to post articles and everyone here seems very friendly, at least the ones I've encountered so far. There are a number of really nice features here like the notifications list, which is very detailed and organized.

The site admin here are very friendly and they're quick to answer any questions that we might have. They also take the time to inform the members here about any possible changes or updates to the site, so we know what's going on, which is great.

What To Like About The Persona Paper Notifications List?

Thursday, September 15, 2016
The better question might be what’s not to like about it because, seriously, the notifications list here on Persona Paper is really awesome and cool. Did I mention I love the way the notifications are so detailed and organized because I totally do?

persona paper, writing website
On the left side of the notifications page, I can see the Recent Activity. I love how the titles of all the articles are actually being listed and shown, so I'm not left guessing which article was commented on or which article got a response to my comment.

Right away, I can see exactly which article the notice list is referring to. And I can just click on the links to be brought to the articles in question.

On the right side of the notifications page, I see the categories under the Activity Breakdown heading. I can see if I have New Followers, New Posts, New Polls, Comment Responses, Post Comments, Profile Comments, and Tagged. I can even click on Show All if I wanna see them all. Seriously, how cool is that?

I especially like how I actually get notified if I get a reply to a comment that I posted on an article. I really like that because, so far, I’ve been asking a lot of questions in my comments since I'm new here and still have a lot to learn.

I've only got a few notifications at the moment, so it’s very easy to manage them, but now I'm wondering if there's a maximum to the number of notices that we can get?

What Happens When You Change Your Persona Paper Article Titles?

Wednesday, September 7, 2016
Has anyone tried this? Do you know what will happen if you decide to change the titles of your Persona Paper articles?

Well, I’ve tried this. I changed the titles of some of my Persona Paper articles in an effort to improve them and make them more interesting. I had no idea what was going to happen after changing the title of an article.

Ideally or preferably, the URL of the post should not change. It should remain the same so that any links to said article will not break and will still work. In short, only the title of the article itself should change.

writing sites, persona paper, articles, titles
So, I wasn’t exactly pleased when I noted that, changing the title of an article on Persona Paper also changed its URL to make it the same as the new title.

I thought the existing links to that article would break since the old title, which was also the old URL, was no longer available.

And I thought that you'd either have to go look for the existing links to that article and change them all to the new URLs or just not bother changing the titles of your articles to save yourself from all that work.

But when I went to check the existing links to the article whose title I’d changed, I found that they weren’t broken. The links still led to the article in question even though the title and the URL have been changed already. And that’s absolutely awesome because it means that you can change your article titles and not have to worry about any broken links.

I think the old links still work because of the number that appears before the title part of the URL. The words in the URL will change every time you change the title of your article, but that number in the URL will remain the same no matter what, so you can still get to your article on Persona Paper even by using a link that contains the old title.

How To Add Spaces To Persona Paper Posts?

Wednesday, August 31, 2016
Do you think the default spacing between paragraphs in your Persona Paper (a writing site that used to pay its members) articles look too close to each other? Having problems with the spacing of your posts? You’re not alone. Sometimes, I have trouble with this too. Sometimes, the space between paragraphs might not be enough no matter how many times you press the "enter" key.

persona paper, writing website, site, tutorial
Sometimes, even if the text post editor already shows what seems to be a million spaces, when you preview your post on Persona Paper, the spaces won’t show up and it still looks like the entire text is one long paragraph, which can be annoying, to say the least.

After all, who wants to read one huge block of text? So, what can you do? How can you fix this problem?

We’ll get the answer to that, but, first, look at the difference in spacing between the first and second paragraph and the second and third paragraph in this post. What did you notice? The spacing is much bigger or longer with the 2nd and 3rd paragraph, right?

Here’s how to do that:
On the text post editor of Persona Paper, click on the button with the <> symbol. If you hover your mouse on this button, you will see the words "source code." Click this symbol and a box will pop-up, showing you the codes for your post in HTML format. It may- okay, scratch that- it can and it does look confusing, but don’t panic. It’s okay. Here’s what you need to do:

Look for <p></p>. That pertains to the paragraphs in your post. So, you should see something like this:

<p>You will see the text for your post here.</p>

You might see <span></span> too. For example, the source code for my post looks something like this:

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Text here.</span></p>

This is because I’m using 14pt as the font size for my articles instead of the default one (I find the default font too small). To add spaces, focus your attention on the </span> and </p> since these two indicate the end of a paragraph. The code for spaces is this: <br />. That means break. You should add it in-between the </span> and the </p>, so it will look something like this:

<p><span>Text here.</span><br /></p>

If only one <br /> doesn’t work or if you want more spaces, just add more. Hope this helped. If you have any questions, feel free to ask :-).
